The Library and Information Centre of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki consists of the Central Library, the Subject Libraries and the Departmental Libraries. The function of the AUTh Library is determined by the Library Regulation, which was drawn up by the Supervisory Committee and approved by the Senate (http://www.lib.auth.gr/node/167/).The School of English Library is located in the 3rd floor of the New Philosophy Building (Room 308).
To open an account and issue a library card
The School of English postgraduate students can open an account in the university libraries and issue a library card in the Faculty of Philosophy Subject Library which is located in the New Wing of the Faculty of Philosophy.
- To open an account and issue a library card users need to present their academic identity card, their identity card or passport and fill in an application form on the spot.
- Postgraduate students use the academic identity card as a library card.
- The library card is strictly personal and is required for every transaction with the university libraries.
- All information kept by the Library concerning users is confidential.
Borrowing / Requesting Books
Postgraduate students can borrow up to fifteen books in total from any university library for a period of thirty days. They can also renew them twice, either in person or by calling, unless a request has been made by another user. Overdue books are fined with 0,30 euro per book per day for all user categories.
