The DILLE Society invites scholars, researchers and practitioners in the field of language to present their contributions for the congress to be held in Tirana May 22-24, 2025. The central theme of the congress will be language-educational policies aimed at promoting multi-/plurilingualism and the practices adopted by different educational systems to meet the needs of contemporary society. Special attention will be paid to strategies for language learning in the global context of the 21st century.
Conference themes:
1. Language planning and policies for multilingualism
2. The impact of language policies on everyday choices (school, family, territory…)
3. Language rights and duties and language-educational policies: national and international perspectives and challenges for an inclusive and multilingual school
4. Pedagogical choices related to the coexistence of different languages in educational contexts
5. Acquisition planning and glottotechnologies
6. Standard and nonstandard varieties in local and international language and language education policies
7. Multilingual interaction and language policies
8. Language policies, certifications, citizenship
9. Plurilingual and pluricultural identities between practices and ideologies
Deadlines and Submission Instructions
Those wishing to present a paper should submit an abstract of no more than 2,000 characters in length (including bibliographical references, which should be only those cited in the text of the abstract no more than ten) by February 10, 2025.
Proposals should be submitted in .doc format through the appropriate form https://forms.gle/edDmLPp7u8qcVBYA9, specifying the theme(s) to which the proposal refers. It is recommended to use the appropriate format and not to indicate the name(s) of the author(s) in the abstract file because proposals will undergo a double anonymous review process.
Proposals will be anonymously submitted to the Scientific Committee and selected based on the following criteria:
• Relevance to the themes of the congress;
• Content relevance and innovativeness;
• Adequacy of theoretical references;
• Methodological clarity (aims, tools, procedures) and organization of the proposal (objectives, etc.).
The languages of the Congress will be Italian and English.
Deadline summary:
– Abstract submission: February 10, 2025
– Communication of selection results: April 1, 2025
– Confirmation of participation by those selected: April 21, 2025
